MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A.        KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Graphic Design Principles
  • Layout & Composition
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • High School level spelling, proofreading, and mathematical skills
  • Ability to use measuring devices accurately
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Attention to the details
  • File Management & Organization
  • Technical Troubleshooting
  • Time Management/Multitasking
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment Graphics exam

B.        EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Associate’s degree in graphic design or comparable experience.
  • Successful completion of Whitlam in house Graphics art training program

  • High School Diploma
  • Graphics Design Experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Successful completion of Whitlam in house graphics art training program

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Graphic Technician is responsible for creating, modifying, and preparing graphic files for both Digital and Flexographic printing processes, ensuring high-quality visual output. This role involves working with design software, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with designers, marketers, customers, sales, engineering and production teams to bring creative concepts to life.

A.        TASKS AND FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Graphic Design & Production: Create, edit, and prepare graphics, layouts, and visual assets for multiple printing processes.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with designers, marketing team, customers, sales team, engineer team, and production team to execute creative projects effectively.
  • Quality Control: Review design for accuracy and consistency.
  • File Management: Organize and maintain digital assets, templates, and project files for easy retrieval.
  • Printing Coordination: Assist in preparing and reviewing files for various printing processes.
  • Comply with all pertinent departmental and company policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY SUPERVISOR:          Graphics Supervisor

TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR:       Graphics Supervisor

INTERACTS WITH:                Production, Sales, Quality, Engineering, IT Departments and                                         Customers. 

AUTHORITY:                      

1.       To communicate with the necessary personnel when discrepancies arise.

2.       To stop any activity that does not comply with our Environmental Policy and Safety procedures.
